Amy Jones is a one woman show. The shop owner behind fashionable Henry + Claire handles everything from apparel design, fabric selection, shipping, customer service and administration. Launched in October 2014, Henry + Claire started out as a creative outlet for Jones. “I had two young babies and a hardworking husband with very long hours,” she shared. “Being able to connect, even virtually, with other moms in similar situations was very therapeutic! Currently, it is becoming more and more hectic, as the shop grows and I continue to do it all alone.” Jones’ background as a project manager for a major engineering firm lends itself well to managing Henry + Claire solo.

Henry + Claire

Henry + Claire has become known for its distinct romper designs and modern, lighthearted messages. “Rompers are perfect for quick moving babes. Rompers go on and off through the neck. There are no snaps between the legs or at the neck.” Based in Texas, the shop’s designs are all originally drawn by hand and proudly printed in the United States. Henry + Claire rompers run true to size and range from 6-12 months to 3T. The shop also offers dresses up to size 5/6T, slouchy hats and raglan t-shirts (for both adults and little ones). Many of the Henry + Claire rompers come in shorts and pants lengths and are designed with an adorable hood or with pockets. The Henry + Claire maroon pocket camo romper sold out immediately after it was released!

Kiss Your Mama

Jones’ favorite print, “You Make Me So Happy,” is also a fan favorite. “It was for my kids and it still makes me smile all these years later.” Other popular Henry + Claire designs include “Boom Shaka Laka” and “Dinosaur Pet” (“When History Repeats Itself, I am SO Getting a Dinosaur”). My little guy personally loves that one (and the “Tacosaurus” romper). Jones constructs from soft, long-lasting fabrics that wash well and look even more vintage with age.

And, even though she does it all without much in the way of help, Jones regularly consults with her kiddos for inspiration. “I ask my daughter what she thinks about all color combos. She has even designed a few of the prints,” Jones exclaimed. “She has a little notebook of ‘romper prints’ that she’s constantly doodling in. A new print coming out next month is 100% her and I’m super excited for it to release.” Jones described her own personal style as “stripes and camo and grey and black,” similar to that of Henry + Claire but with more “pops of color.”
